“Notes of hearty malt, oak, and pear with a dollop of honey appear on the nose. The whisky is full in the mouth with a rich, sweet flavor at first. Then, toasted grains become the dominant flavor on the mid-palate with a moderate amount of barrel spices adding some dimension to the dram. The finish has a pretty good length and it balances both a robust grains taste with a fruity flavor (plums, pear) without being too sweet. Less dessert-style than you might expect with a Sauternes and port finish, which is a pleasant discovery. ” – Stephanie Moreno, Distiller (91 Points)

“A whiff of wood smoke or char on the nose, creating an overlay to more classic notes of stone fruit, mango, red berries, apples, and vanilla. Still lots of fruited liveliness beneath the initial smoke, which develops more toward cigar box and cigar ash. The palate offers honeyed sweetness, crème brûlée, coconut cream, tropical fruits, red berries, and pepper spice. Smooth and mellow on the finish, but the flavors don’t linger long.” – Jonny McCormick, Whisky Advocate (93 Points)
