Glenrothes chasers will be keen to taste the new age statements making up the ‘Soleo Collection’. The range revolves around sherry seasoned casks, named for the process used to sun-dry grapes in Jerez, Spain – the spiritual home of sherry. It also highlights how seriously Glenrothes take their wood – in fact, they’re one of the last distilleries in Scotland to maintain their own in-house cooperage. Sought after European and American oak barrels are sourced and repaired at the cooperage, driven by the knowledge that to make the best whisky, only the best wood will do.
