“The aroma is rich with dates, orange peel, vanilla, and nutty barley. There’s some red fruit and milk chocolate in there as well. It’s fairly full (medium plus) on the palate and soft. There’s a moderate sweetness here accented with a lightly spiced ending. The sherry flavors — dried fruits, walnuts, as well as a touch of oxidation — are present and accounted for on the finish. While not dessert-style, would certainly put it in the nightcap category. Crowd-pleasing and fairly priced.” – Stephanie Moreno, Distiller (93 Points)
“The nose is luxuriously appealing, with milk chocolate, maraschino cherry, bramble, black currant, Nutella, baked citrus, apricot, mango, oak spices, toasted nuts, and cinnamon bark. Smooth and polished on the palate, the complex cask regime serves up flavors of milk chocolate, licorice, black grape, sultana, date, ginger root, currants, and clove. The finish serves up dried fruit and licorice, with hints of leather and coffee bean.” – Jonny McCormick, Whisky Advocate (94 Points)
