Redbreast 21 Year Old Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey 700mL
Using a style of Pot Still whiskey reflective of the Midleton Distillery tradition, Redbreast 21 represents the ultimate expression of Redbreast Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey. The 21 year ageing process introduces new levels of depth, flavour and taste, creating a complex and rewarding whiskey. Abundantly aromatic and fruitful, and produced in very limited quantities, this 21 year old Redbreast is a joy to behold in each and every bottle.
Redbreast 21 Year Old is made from a mash of malted and unmalted barley, triple distilled in copper pot stills, and finally, matured in a combination of American bourbon barrels and first fill Spanish oloroso sherry butts.
Other reviews… Wow! After the wonderful 12 year old cask strength, Redbreast does it again. This is a different beast altogether, but it is a stunner. This is Roger Waters doing The Wall: over the top, unsubtle, and totally entertaining. There’s lots going on: fermenting apples, juicy oils, spice, and dark cherry and berry fruits zip and fizz over the palate, the wood influence is sublime. I’m comfortably numb. 96 points
Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey is unique to Ireland. It is regarded as the quintessential style of Irish whiskey, safeguarded and nurtured under the watchful eye of the Midleton Distillery for almost two hundred years. Made from a mash of malted and unmalted barley and then triple distilled in traditional copper pot stills, Single Pot Irish Whiskeys are characterised by full, complex flavours and a wonderful creamy mouthfeel.
Redbreast 21 Year Old is the finest representation of the signature Redbreast sherry style – the oldest and richest permanent expression available in the range. The 21 year ageing process introduces new levels of depth, flavour and taste to create an inherently complex and ultimately, rewarding whiskey.
