Whitley Neill Quince Gin 700ml
Made in England but inspired by Africa, this is a blend of nine botanicals including two South African specialties: the wild citrus fruit of the baobab tree and aromatic Cape gooseberries. Other ingredients include Persian herbs, coriander, lemon zest and Turkish quince juice.
Tasting note: [Batch 001 tasted] Brilliant gold colour is slightly viscous. Issues attractive aromas of apple sauce and quince jam with cinnamon and pepper warmth. Creamy, viscous entry followed by a fabulous burst of quince, pepper, poached pear, sweet spice and balancing acidity to finish. A superb drink, but about as far as you can get from a traditional gin. 43% Alc./Vol.
