Hellyers Road Distillery Original 15 Year Old Single Malt Australian Whisky 700ml Fifteen years marks the oldest age statement Hellyers Road have released to date. It's also one of the oldest Australian whiskies currently available, so something of a milestone. This was matured and vatted in American oak. Tasting note: Bright gold. Slightly acidic lift to the nose; the grassiness sometimes associated with this distillery edging towards pencil shavings / saw dust, with air time adding appealing suggestions of passionfruit yogurt and even a touch of feijoa(?) Some alcohol flare over hints of fruit toast, cut grass and delicate cool mint through the medium long finish. Intense and unexpectedly rugged for its age. Non chill filtered. 46.2% Alc./Vol.
