Herno Old Tom Gin 500ml
Since its release in September 2014, Herno Old Tom has received a total of four Master medals at the Global Gin Masters and also a Gold / Outstanding at the International Wine and Spirits Competition (IWSC) 2015.
Tasting note: [Batch 33 tasted] Clear. Intensely aromatic with no shortage of pepper through the juniper, vanilla and floral citrus. Cinnamon too. Air contact emphasises lemon peel and coriander freshness. A creamy, gently tingling delivery featuring elderflower gelato, marzipan, trace vanilla and juicy juniper to finish. Wonderfully textural with excellent sweet-dry balance. 43% Alc./Vol. Unfiltered.
From the Swedish Hernö distillers comes a sweet, lip-smacking Old Tom Gin. They use the same botanical selection as their Hernö Dry Gin for this, although they've dialled up the amount of meadowsweet used. After distillation, they add a touch of honey and sugar, giving it the classic sweetness you look for in a traditional Old Tom Gin. www.tastings.com
